ESP® significantly reduces the number of road fatalities and injuries and makes an important contribution towards road safety. This is the conclusion drawn from numerous international studies undertaken by leading automobile manufacturers and safety authorities to assess the effectiveness of ESP®.

Accidentology shows that at least 40 percent of all fatal road crashes are caused by skidding. ESP® can reduce skidding by up to 80 percent of all skid crashes. A macro-economic analysis by the University of Cologne in 2007 shows that in Europe alone 4,000 lives could be saved and 100,000 injuries avoided if all vehicles had ESP®.
